Big Bend Railroad History
This site features daily historical railroad posts from the Big Bend/Columbia Plateau region of Washington state. As a personal site, this is my online filing cabinet of interesting things I've come across about railroading in the area. Thanks for stopping by! --Dan Bolyard

Blair says:
"The tele-squish of the Columbia Basin Railroad's Connell turn winding up the hill out of Connell after accepting a 96 car train of interchange from BNSF. I had scoffed when the downbound train departed Warden that morning with six locomotives--five SD9s and a single GP9--as I thought that might be a bit of overkill. . .but the show was one for the ages as it looped and curved its way up the grade--nearly 10 miles of one percent with 7 and 8 degree curves—with probably 11,000 tons in tow!"
